WHAT HAPPENED:
3:45 MET AT LONGCROFT - HAD TO COMPROMISE WITH DANCERS IN THE THEATRE WHO HAD NOT BOOKED IT IF THEY COULD USE THE FLOOR SPACE
4:10 SET UP CAMERA DID MAKE UP HAIR AND COSTUME. ALSO ALEX SET UP LIGHTING.
4:30 FINISHED REHERSALS AND MET JOHN
4:35 REALISED THERE WAS NO TAPE IN CAMERA AFTER I HAD BEEN TOLD THERE WAS
4:45 RUSHED BACK WITH TAPE FROM HOME

Distaster strikes again

After being satisfied with my video I saved it on the edit suite. When I returned in my lunch hour to upload it onto you tube I noticed that the beginning of my music video which I had not altered since 2012 had been tampered with since shots of my artists feet were dragged all across this section. I was very upset and frustrated by this after the hours of work I put in. Now at the start of my music video there is a slight jump cut which I am not happy with. Although it looks practically the same after me spending hours after school to fix it I can notice subtle differences that others cannot.

Today I filmed Meg in the green room some pictures of the set up:

Meg with bright magenta lights to allow editing

A softer fill light to allow Meg's skin to glow. Also lyrics printed for Meg on a stand in case she forgot them

Camera set up and ready on tripod.

Fan to cool Meg down after the intense bright lights, also to allow a bit of movement to the shot e.g. hair blowing a tiny bit.

Today I filmed Meg and the journal scene. I also filmed the scene where it flashes back to the wedding outdoors.

JOURNAL SCENE

Used the hearts pattern from my Mum's valentine's card.

Cut out some hearts from red paper

Found red and pink pens to connote danger, innocence but most of all love and the dangers of femininity

I manipulated an image on iPhoto to create an effect that Jacko was in a previous relationship with Sally. As if the homewrecking had taken place.

I added an effect to this image to enhance it to make it clearer

I bought a sketch pad from THE WORKS for £2.99 to decorate into the journal

I printed out photos I had manipulated and taken on previous dates to include in the journal

When making the front cover I downloaded a font from www.dafont.com to find a newspaperesque/mystery/criminal feel to my journal. I decided the appropriate front was the sex pistols font as it had all the connotations e.g. rebellion that I wanted. I used the colour red to connote danger and passion and how the two when conflicted together can cause horrific results (this book) I added a black stroke outline to allow the font to be clearer.

How the book looked previously

I purposely used Sellotape to create a hand made effect. I stuck on a few hearts from my parents valentines cards in different sizes.

I cut out photos

Glued them in with PVA glue

Afterwards  stuck on the three hearts I cut out with double sided sellotape

Filming. My desk area was too dark therefore I had to find a lamp that produced a soft light

I brought this light from the spare room as the other lights had a too harsh glow

OUTDOOR SCENE

For this scene I back combed Megs hair and went out in the late afternoon to show the passage of time. Unfortunately some boys on scooters were shouting and staring at us whilst we were trying to film which put us behind a bit!

WHAT I PROPOSED:

• Film Meg in green room on friday 01/03/13 as we both have spare time
• Film running away scene in the boiler room in college instead on friday 01/03/13
• Dance scene on monday 04/03/13
• Journal scene saturday 02/03/13

REALITY:

• Green room not avaliable on fridays
• Had to take camera home on thursday instead of friday
• Theatre booked out and people have other commitments such as orchestra concerts and university open days
• Journal scene may have to be changed to sunday due to meg attending a university open day.

ANOTHER DISASTER

when in the editing suite the other week, I tried to update and experiment with my chorus to see what I needed to reshoot. However, the edit suite automatically saved when I had dropped a piece of chorus onto the bar towards the end of the song. Before I realised that the ending scenes with Rob had been completely overwritten it was too late. Unfortunately the scenes and cuts were not easy to retrevieve due to them all being shot when I had the blank tape disaster! This has set me back quite a bit but I aim to have it sorted ASAP.
